DACS - Design and Artists Copyright Society
DACS is a membership based organisation representing 36,000 fine artists and their heirs, in addition to 16,000 photographers, illustrators, craftspeople, cartoonists, architects, animators and designers, including some of the biggest names in contemporary visual arts.
They provide a range of licensing services for copyright consumers seeking to license the individual rights of an artist. Licences for secondary uses of artistic works are also administered under collective licensing schemes.
Committed to the pursuit of excellence in the art form, the Society aims to inspire, inform and engage people with sculpture, offering opportunities to see and experience the extraordinary diversity of contemporary work.
The society supports sculptors by providing bursaries to newly emergent sculptors, professional development seminars, a mentoring scheme and various awards. It is a membership society of professional sculptors and was established in 1905 as a not-for-profit company and is the oldest and largest organisation dedicated to sculpture in the UK.
Founded in 1910, the Contemporary Art Society have played a unique and largely solitary role in the formation of public collections of contemporary art in the UK donating more than 8,000 works where they are enjoyed by audiences everywhere.
They continue to act as a catalyst for the visual arts in the UK, developing audiences, artists, curators, collectors and collections alike.
The Royal Photographic Society was founded in 1853 to ‘promote the Art and Science of Photography', a mission it continues to this day.
Membership is open to everyone interested in photography in the UK and throughout the world, be they amateur or professional, artist or scientist, young or old. Many members also join one or more of the specialist Groups within The Society. Events are also organised by local Regions or Chapters.
The society promotes and supports the work of creative thinkers, designers and makers who continue to innovate in the crafts through their exploration of materials and skills.
Founded in 1887 as the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society with Walter Crane, William Morris and William de Morgan they now have a large membership which offers a vast resource of experience to benefit those seeking advice about all aspects of the business of design and craftsmanship including commissioning.
The AOP is a membership based organisation comprised of Professional Photographers, Agents, Assistants and Students as well as Affiliated Colleges and Affiliated Companies.
The AOP brings professional photographers together, protecting their rights and promoting photography.
They campaign for all photographers and their awards promote the best in photography. They also provide information services, education programmes, exhibitions and publications to support these activities.
